Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. Who we are
This policy explains how bitB (“we”, “us”) handles personal information on bitbcfp.com, including the members’ video library.
bitB is run by Raymond Andrew Norton, trading as bitB CFP, 41 Angus Crescent, North Shields, Tyne and Wear, NE29 6UF, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. Our registration number with the Information Commission (formerly the ICO) is 00015795761.
Questions or requests about your information: support@bitbcfp.com. We reply within one month.
2. What we collect
If you apply to join (the form on our home page):
- name, email address, Discord username and age;
- the languages you speak, the poker sites you play on and your screen names;
- your stakes, volume, playing and study time, your poker background and goals;
- any screenshot or file you upload (for example your Pokercraft results);
- the date and time, your IP address and browser type, recorded automatically when you send the form.
If you are a member (we create your account when you join):
- your username (your Discord name), display name and email address;
- your password, stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so we can never see it;
- your team(s), role (player, staff or coach) and preferred email language;
- which videos you start and finish, and when;
- comments you post under videos (with your display name and the date), which other members who can see that video can read;
- security and access records: when you log in, the pages and videos you open, failed login attempts and password resets, with the device and browser used, your IP address and the approximate country it comes from (see section 4).
Everyone who visits the site: the technical information any website receives (IP address, browser, pages requested) in our host’s server logs, and the cookies described in section 5.
We don’t collect payment details on this site, and we don’t use advertising or tracking for marketing.
3. Why we use it
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Review your application and contact you about it | Steps you ask us to take before joining (contract) |
| Create and run your member account, give you the videos for your team, send account emails (invite, password reset) | To provide the membership you signed up for (contract) |
| Show you your progress and recommend what to watch next | Contract |
| Show your comments under videos and notify the video’s coach on the site when you comment, or you when someone replies to you | Contract |
| Keep accounts secure and check that each account is used only by its owner (section 4) | Our legitimate interest in protecting our coaching content and members’ accounts |
| Understand which videos and coaches are used, to improve the library | Legitimate interest |
| Optional cookies (section 5) | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
4. Account security and sharing checks
Member accounts are personal and must not be shared. To protect the content and spot shared or compromised accounts, the site keeps a record each time a member logs in, visits the members’ area or opens a video. Each record includes:
- a random device identifier stored in a cookie on your browser;
- the browser and system (for example “Chrome on Windows”);
- your IP address and the approximate country it belongs to, looked up on our own server (your IP address is not sent to any outside service for this).
Only bitB’s administrators can see these records. We use them to spot an account used on many devices or in different places at the same time. Before taking any action, a person reviews the records; using a VPN or clearing cookies can look unusual, so we’ll contact you before deciding anything. Access records are deleted automatically after 180 days.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use as few as possible.
| Cookie | What it does | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress login cookies (wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_…, wordpress_test_cookie) | Keep you logged in to the members’ area | Essential | Until you log out, or up to 14 days if you tick “remember me” |
| bitb_did | Random device identifier for account security (section 4) | Essential for members | 2 years |
| bitb_pwlang | Shows the “password set” message in your language after you set your password | Essential | 15 minutes |
| cookieyes-consent | Remembers your cookie choices | Essential | 1 year |
| googtrans | Remembers the language you picked in the translation menu | Functional, only if you use it | Session |
| Vimeo player cookies (for example vuid) | Set by Vimeo when a video plays, to run the player and count plays | Set by Vimeo | Up to 2 years |
The cookie banner runs on our own website. Your choice is stored only in the cookieyes-consent cookie in your browser and is not sent to anyone else.
You can change your choice at any time with the cookie button at the bottom-left of the site. Blocking essential cookies will stop the members’ area working.
6. Who we share it with
We only share information with the services that run the site, and only what each needs:

- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
